Interior cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaissery's new laws on traffic caught none other than the President's wife, Margret Kenyatta, whose vehicle was commandered to Ruaraka police station.
Traffic police on Thika Road impounded the vehicle because it did not have proper registration and was driven to Ruaraka police station. The president's wife was however not on the vehicle during the crackdown and was spared the embarrassment.
Statehouse later ordered the vehicle to be released without delay.
Joseph Nkaissery ordered that all vehicles with improper registration, sirens and strobe lights be impounded except those belonging to the President, his deputy, and only authorized vehicles including ambulances, police vehicles and fire engines.
